The Liar’s Chair is a debut psychological thriller by REBECCA WHITNEY, to be published by Mantle in the UK. It tells the story of a woman in a toxic marriage, who is involved in a hit-and-run. The deal includes a second novel by Whitney.
Due: January 2015.

An action adventure series of thrillers by BEAR GRYLLS and DAMIEN LEWIS will be published in the UK by Orion. The first, featuring Dan Ranger, an ex-SAS, ecologist and adventurer, is Ghost Flight. Grylls said: ‘This series of novels will combine the best of Bond, Bourne, and Indiana Jones in one gripping series of books. We take the former SF soldier Dan Ranger into the murky depths of covert modern-day Nazism, gritty survival and the Special Forces brotherhood in a way we have never seen before. Hold tight for the adventure.’

Truth and other Lies, written by German television writer SASCHA ARANGO, will be published in the UK by Simon & Schuster. The German ‘dark thriller’ was one of the hotly tipped manuscripts on sale at the 2014 London Book Fair. Anti-hero Henry Hayden, a celebrated author, is a loving husband and generous friend who ‘has it all’. But when his mistress becomes pregnant, his life goes out of control and his attempts to manage the situation go horribly wrong as he plays off the police, his publisher, his friends and his past.
Due: April 2015.

STEVE TOLTZ, whose debut was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize, is to have his second novel Quicksand published in the UK by Sceptre. Protagonists Aldo and Liam are lifelong friends, criminal and officer, muse and writer. Quicksand is described by the publisher as ‘a subversive portrait of 21st century society in all its hypocrisy and absurdity.’

The Letters of Ivor Punch by COLIN MACINTYRE will be published in the UK by Weidenfeld & Nicolson. Set on the Scottish island of Mull, The Letters of Ivor Punch is a story about home, leaving home, and fathers and sons set in an eccentric community steeped in generations of folklore and secrets.
