Dorothy Koomson
Dorothy Koomson’s next two novels will be published by Cornerstone, where she has moved from Quercus. With Quercus, Koomson published The Rose Petal Beach in 2012, and The Flavours of Love in 2013. Previous novels include My Best Friend’s Girl [Sphere, 2006], chosen as a Richard and Judy Summer Reads pick, it sold 587,325 copies according to Nielsen BookScan. Her sixth novel, The Ice Cream Girls, was adapted for ITV last year.

Her first novel for Cornerstone will be published in Century hardback in spring 2016.

Robert Thorogood
Creator of BBC television series Death in Paradise, Thorogood has signed a deal with Mira Harlequin UK for three novels. The novels will take inspiration from the television show and feature Met police officer Richard Poole and Detective Sergeant Camille Bordey. Thorogood has been an avid reader of murder mysteries all his life and is a huge fan of Agatha Christie.

Jane Bidder
Janey Fraser is to publish three thought-provoking family dramas with Accent Press under her own name Jane Bidder. Bidder has an established record of writing under pen names having written The School Run as Sophie King published by Hodder & Stoughton, and as Janey Fraser for Arrow Random House with titles The Playgroup, The Au Pair, Happy Families and the upcoming 2014 title After The Honeymoon. guilty by jane bidder 1-4-14The first of the three to be published by Accent Press, Guilty, was published in January. It tells the story of solicitor Simon and his artist wife Claire, whose lives are transformed by a fatal crash. Simon is sentenced to two years in prison. The novel is divided into two sections, IN and OUT, and was inspired by the author’s experiences as writer in residence of a male high security prison for three years. The other two titles in the Accent Press series, The Victim and The Witness, are scheduled for publication later this year.

Anna Caltabiano
The Seventh Miss Hatfield, the debut novel by 17-year old writer Anna Caltabiano, has been acquired by Gollancz. It is the first of a trilogy which Gollancz believes will appeal to adults and teenagers. The Seventh Miss Hatfield follows Rebecca, unhappy with life, who becomes immersed in her neighbour’s peculiar world. The second and third books in the trilogy will be released released in 2015 and 2016.

Harriet Evans
Harriet Evans has signed a three-book deal with Headline, the first book in the deal is A Place For Us to be published as a digital edition this autumn with a paperback following January 2015. Evans is previously published by HarperCollins, her latest novel Not Without You was published by HC in March 2013. not without you by harriet evans 1-4-14

David Ramirez
Two books by debut novelist and ex-scientist David Ramirez will be published by Hodder & Stoughton. The Forever Watch tells of the journey of The Noah, a city-sized ship which is halfway through an 800-year voyage to another planet. A man is murdered and Hana Dempsey, who is genetically modified to use The Noah’s telepathic internet, investigates. She uncovers a serial killer who may have been on board The Noah for a lifetime – or longer. The Forever Watch will be published on May 1 this year.
