It is indeed a great opening paragraph. I’d forgotten how much I like Grisham – will have to get to his books. Did this book hold up to your expectations? Thanks for the reminder about a terrific storyteller.

I think I don’t like Grisham and then re-read [or listen to audio] and realize how good he was at plotting. And this one is particularly good at drawing Mississippi in the 70s. SD
